Coronavirus Pandemic UPDATE and STATEMENT

The latest information from the Government last evening highlighted the need for social distancing for everyone in the UK and protecting older people and vulnerable adults.

This advice covers ‘social mixing in the community’ covering pubs, clubs, theatres, cinemas, bars and restaurants. Further advice was offered for those over the age of 70, those of any age with underlying health conditions, those with serious health conditions and pregnant women.

We have therefore decided to close our bar and restaurant to all members and visitors with immediate effect. The golf courses will remain open for play as will the par 3 course, the golf shop and the golf range which will re-open tomorrow at 12.00 noon after a recent closure.

Members and other golfers will continue to phone in their tee reservations and we will allow one of the ‘group’ (two-ball, three-ball or 4 ball) to check them all in BEFORE  they play. Please refrain from coming into the clubhouse to book tee times – do so over the phone or through the online booking system.

We are advising golfers that use the golf courses to social distance themselves from each other (2 meters) and keep away from groups ahead of you on the course (i.e. amassing around the teeing ground).

When playing we recommend that you do not touch the flagstick and when in bunkers use your foot and or club to repair your mark.

Do not shake hands or touch other player’s equipment including picking up their golf ball. Please change your shoes in the car park and where possible do not enter the clubhouse area.

From today’s date we will now become a CASHLESS environment– that means credit and debit card payments ONLY.

All of the above is subject to change as further information and instruction comes from the government.

Very difficult times – but playing golf on our lovely golf courses, being socially responsible, will be a nice place to be.
